21st Edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA)
The 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) is now done and dusted.
The awards ceremony, which was a two-day affair took place on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at the Grand Arena inside the Accra International Conference Centre.Friday's event was the Industry Awards while Saturday's event was the Public Awards. In all about 30 awards were given out to deserving artistes. Highlife musician Kuami Eugene emerged the overall Artiste of the Year and also won the Highlife Artiste of the Year.
Another Highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata won three awards; Songwriter of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year and Most Popular Song of the Year with his hit track Things Fall Apart.
Gospel musician Celestine Donkor won two trophies; Female Vocalist of the Year and Gospel Song of the Year with Agbebolo.
The event will be climaxed by a concert for frontline workers dubbed: "VGMA COVID-19 Heroes Concert" on Sunday night.
